Sinclair 2K lives on a Island with outdated Robots and has very little memory. His memory is so bad that he forgot what his wife looks like. Sinclair like the other outdated robots refuses to be upgraded and so is usless in modern society.
In The Devil's Hands are Idle Playthings the "Wheel of Robots" lists him, showing that he is a real robot and not just part of Bender's dream. He is briefly seen with the other robots of the island in Crimes of the Hot swinging to the Galapagos Islands, further proving he really exists.
His design is most likely a reference to Robby the Robot from the science fiction film Forbidden Planet.
Probably named after the Sinclair Research company which developed the ZX Spectrum in the early to mid 80s.
